Geneva, 20 August 2020 — Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan passed away two years ago. His legacy in Peace and Security, administrative reforms, and mobilizing the private sector to work in tandem with the United Nations to address sustainable development is unparalleled.

He was pivotal on bringing the private sector to the multilateral negotiating table, through the Millennial Development Goals and through the creation of the UN Global Compact in 2000.

I had the privilege to work under his leadership when I was posted at the UN in New York. He was an inspired and inspiring leader.
